Report: Frank Watson, Legendary NYC Club Promoter, has Died

This morning, social media was alight with news that Frank Watson has passed away. While no cause of death or official statement has been released, socials were flooded with tributes as friends and partiers gave their flowers to the man who was widely seen as the most prolific club promoter of New York’s gay scene.

Many of the remembrances highlighted Frank’s loving nature, describing a man with a big heart who was dedicated to providing safe spaces for the queer community to party.

Frank Watson’s personal Facebook page noted that he’s from Monticello, Arkansas, went to Monticello High School, studied Marketing at University of Arkansas and Acting at The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts.

His last posts on social media were promoting recent events at 42 D’OR, The DL and Blue Nightclub. In his personal Instagram page, he referred to himself as “Mr. Southern Charm” and showed him partying across the country in fun and festive locales.

The news of Frank Watson’s passing was another hit to the LGBTQ+ party scene, coming just days after the tragic mass shooting at the Club Q in Colorado, and a vandalism incident at the Vers club in NYC.
