Women Talking is an enthralling and inspiring film that follows the journey of eight Bolivian Mennonite women who are determined to uncover the truth about the sexual assaults that have been plaguing their community for years. After the colony’s leaders ignore their pleas for help, the women take matters into their own hands, ultimately deciding to take a stand against the perpetrators and the patriarchal system that has allowed them to go unnoticed for so long. Despite the fact they are illiterate, uneducated, and living in a society that doesn’t acknowledge the value of women’s voices, they are able to come together to make a difference. Women Talking poignantly demonstrates the power of solidarity and how even the most marginalized members of society can create real change.
